Coventry Urban Eden have been busy little bees!
After many months of meetings and plan making (and finding our feet). We are now starting to see the fruits of our labour. The seeds were sown at Collaboration Station mid-last year. A group of people meeting at one of the tables. Who all cared about Coventry’s green future. We are now officially called Coventry Urban Eden (CUE).
We have been inspired and energised by the enthusiasm we have received during our green journey to bring nature back into Coventry city centre. With that said, one of our favourite things to do has been getting out into the community and meeting up with other like-minded people who share our vision for a greener Coventry - and there are many!
Over a cuppa at Albert’s Cafe at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum on Thursday the 4th of May, we had a follow up meeting with The Herbert about getting more greenery and colour into their planters with help from Team Springboard, Your Student Union Coventry and WILD Presentations.
We shared updates, expertise was given, ideas were posited, conversations were filmed, actions were made and future collaborations were suggested. The positive energy flowed from the meeting in the cafe into the gentle Spring sunshine near the planters where we sowed some flowers. Some woad seeds (a plant that helps create a natural Coventry blue dye!) went home with Team Springboard and CUE members to be sown indoors and planted later on. Next on the agenda will be planting the hopi sunflowers when the time is right!
Before we go, Coventry Urban Eden are excited to invite you to our official launch!
