City Centre Safe Spaces

Our Connecting for Good Cov team, West Midlands Police, Coventry Business Improvement District (BID), Hereward College and Coventry City of Culture Trust are working together to make sure Coventry city centre is inclusive and supportive of all residents and visitors.

A chalkboard sign on a wooden cafe table read City Centre Safe Spaces. People talk and eat in the background.

We wanted to hear about the places people felt safe, connected and like they belong in the city centre. So at the end of February we went on a listening tour joined by some of our Changemakers, a couple of City Hosts and City of Culture staff.

We explored the city centre, sharing our experiences and thoughts. Our next steps are to pull all this information together and form a core team of people who want to develop the idea further.

A group, some in coats with City Host branding, gather to talk in Broadgate in Coventry city centre about places people feel safe and connected.

Would you like to add your thoughts and get involved? We would love to hear from you!
