Collaboration Station (for the Coventry Nation)

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

When and where is it?

Every third Wednesday of the month from 5:30 - 7:30pm.

At Costa Coffee, The Hub, Coventry University, Priory Street, CV1 5QP.

What is it?

Collaboration Station is Coventry's open ideas night - an informal evening of generating and developing ideas focused on connecting Coventry, lessening isolation and unleashing a better city. Sparked by Grapevine's #connectingforgoodcov movement.

Who it is for?

  • If you have an idea that you need support with already, come and ask for it

  • If you have support to give, come and offer it

  • If you feel like your skills and interests are so unique or under-developed that they won’t be helpful, come and share them with us – you may be the unexpected support that we are looking for.

We welcome all to join us, regardless of age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation.

What to expect at a Collaboration Station

Table hosts >>

  • Arrive early to speak to the meet and greet person to explain your idea / group / action and what you hope to gain from the evening. This allows the meet and greet to direct the right people your way

  • Choose and set up your table. Basic materials are provided - paper, pens, etc. You may want to create a table sign and outline two or three aims for the evening.

All >>

A Collaborator will introduce the evening, outline the table themes / ideas and share a story of collaboration.

Table hosts >>

People will join your table. These are your collaborators! Keep yourself fed and watered. Change is thirsty work.

  • To wrap up the evening, each table will be asked to feed back two or three things that they have gained from discussions, next steps and any asks

  • You have approx 90 minutes to bounce around ideas, share insight, info and plan next steps. Share contact details to follow up, if you like

  • Clear up the space. We want them to invite us back!

Table hosts >>

  • At the end, table hosts will have the opportunity to record a one-minute call to action to be shared on the event Facebook page - this will extend your reach and may find just the help you are looking for to develop!

  • Speak to planning team to secure your table for next month.

Give yourself a pat on the back! Put the next date in your diary and invite your friends.
