The findings of a questionnaire about about the public toilets in Coventry City Centre has been launched today.
The Need The Loo campaign was started by a group of local citizens with the help of Connecting For Good. They were motivated after hearing about many different experiences of people who need to access toilets easily and without fuss. And who are currently struggling to do so with the current provision.Â
Their findings have shown that all kinds of people need access to toilets easily and without fuss. However, for many different reasons, people are struggling with the current provision. Its not all doom and gloom though as there were positive stories shared about the toilets in the city centre. The summary includes 5 recommendations that would make improvements to the current provision.
The Need The Loo team would love to work in collaboration to ensure people's voices are heard. The next steps for them are to reach out to the organisations who manage the city centre and those who are responsible for the public toilets to make the changes that have been recommended in the summary.
Could you help them to achieve their goals? They are on the lookout for passionate local people who would like to get involved in helping them to bring about change. They have plenty of actions for people to get involved with. If this sounds like something you would like to find out more about contact Melissa: mvsmith@grapevinecovandwarks.org
"Our findings show that toilet provision in Coventry should be better. We want Coventry to be known as a city that cares for the dignity and wellbeing of its citizens, by meeting this very human need."
